Engine Envy
Be the envy of the highway. The 2007 MBE 4000 is loaded with features that will
get truckers talking—like sophisticated electronic engine management, superior
fuel economy and plenty of power. Take a look at some of the innovative ways
we've made the MBE 4000 the engine to envy.
Sophisticated Power
Detroit Diesel Electronic Controls (DDEC)
We set the bar for electronic engine management way back in the 1980s. The
sixth generation of DDEC controls uses dual microprocessors and sophisticated
diagnostics and analytics to give you up-to-the-minute data on all of your
engines vital systems. DDEC VI responds automatically to critical systems
failures to prevent further damage and repairs to the engine.
SMART Fuel System
The new SMART Fuel System adds to the performance and cleanliness of the 2007
MBE 4000. It features electronically controlled injection nozzles capable of
multiple injections per combustion cycle.
Optimized Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR)
With sophisticated, reliable electronic
controls, the MBE 4000 takes super-heated exhaust and sends it back through the
engine where it's water-cooled and routed back to the intake manifold. Then,
the Aftertreatment
System's filtration process cleans the exhaust before the air re-enters
the atmosphere.
Engine Brakes
The best engine brake technology just got better. The MBE 4000 comes with a
standard exhaust brake – at no extra cost or weight – that provides 370 braking
horsepower. For buyers who need more, we offer an optional Premium Engine Brake
that boosts braking power to a whopping 580 BHP. Either way, you get improved
safety, increased service brake life and a brake so quiet it can often be used
where others can't.
Maintenance-Free Electrostatic Breather
The electrostatic breather removes oil from crankcase vapor before it's
discharged from the engine. Not only does it help to reduce harmful emissions,
it recycles the oil droplets back to the engine where they can keep doing their
job. And best of all, the breather requires no maintenance. Now that's
innovation.
